Accessibility statement

A website everyone can use.

This statement covers zelvoristech.com. It says what standard we aim for, what we do to meet it, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us about a problem.

The standard we aim for

We aim for the website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Every change to the site is checked for problems such as missing image descriptions, links with no text and pages that scroll sideways on a phone, and we treat a failure against the standard as a fault to fix, not a matter of taste.

How far we meet it

This is our own assessment; the site has not yet been audited independently. Automated checks run on every page before each release, last on 8 November 2026. We designed the colours to meet the AA contrast ratios and the site to work by keyboard alone, and we are completing a manual check of both. The menu control described under known limitations is the only gap we know of.

What we do

  • Contrast. Text and the controls you need to see are designed to meet the AA contrast ratios, in both the light and the dark colour schemes.
  • Keyboard. Every link, menu and expanding answer can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline, and a skip link takes you straight to the content.
  • Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site's animations are switched off. Where something moves on its own, such as the strip of keywords on the home page, there is a button to pause it.
  • No scripts. The site runs no JavaScript, so it works the same with scripts blocked, in older browsers and with assistive technology that struggles with dynamic pages.
  • Text that resizes. Text is set in relative units, so it grows with your browser's text size and zoom, and pages reflow to a single column on narrow screens without scrolling sideways.
  • Structure. Each page has one main heading, labelled navigation areas, and descriptions for images that carry meaning.

Known limitations

On small screens the main menu opens with a checkbox control rather than a button, because the site uses no scripts. Screen readers announce it as a checkbox named "Menu", checked when the menu is open. It works with a keyboard and with touch, but it is not the button pattern some people expect.

If you find anything else that gets in your way, we would rather hear about it than not.

Tell us about a problem

Email enquiries@zelvoristech.com with the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. If you use assistive technology, telling us which one helps us reproduce the problem. We aim to reply within two working days, and if you need information from the site in another format, ask and we will send it.
